Back again for another installment of his Sector LP series, A-Sides never ceases to bring together the best eras of drum & bass within one package.

Again he returns to form, weaving yet another album of decorated dancefloor anthems which will transport their listeners back to each milestone that paved his career. Stretching from one decade to the next, it’s not just a return to form, but also a reinstatement of what exactly A-Sides is capable of. And with its remastering, it’s different not to notice the pure brilliance of his production credibility.

From the rolling ‘Electric’ ft. Daz, to the lofty stabs of ‘Dreamworld’ prepare to be pulled into his vortex of musicality. It’s a musicality which has been upheld throughout his time within the scene and the sole reason this kind of product can be unleashed on a fan base that’s stayed loyal from the beginning. Although with an output like his, this can only to be expected.

Fluctuating bass notes dominate ‘Electric’, with ragga sample slipping between each break to take you deep into the old-school dominion A-Sides presides over. On the other hand, ‘Vortex’ centers around strung out percussion and clinking hi-hats, the metallic sound waves hitting you between each layer. Its composition is made weightier by thumping kick drum, taking you step by step into a realm that is enveloped by his signature flow.

‘Legacy’ featuring Cool Hand Flex throws you through a conundrum of clicking cymbals and cleverly placed drum skits, creating an all-encompassing composition of key pads and clashing breaks. Slightly lighter in its delivery but still hitting with impact on each drum kick, ‘Groan’ uses elongated vocal sample to take you between each segment. Distorted bass gives a nastier hook, creating a riddim that’s weighty yet underpinned with cleverly implemented percussion.

And finally comes ‘Dreamworld’. With an ethereal vibe prevalent throughout its mix, it takes you by the hand through a slightly less dense, yet magically transformed soundscape which isn’t as heavy on the aural synapses. It’s yet another extension of A-Sides world... Another sector that’ll bring you even closer to a producer who’s been revered throughout the genre’s living memory.
